Ernest Willman, a licensed professional in Arizona, currently works full-time as a freelance Certified Deaf Interpreter (CDI). His multifaceted career includes previous experience as a faculty member of American Sign Language (ASL) and Interpreting courses. Currently, Ernest is working towards a doctoral degree in Deaf Education, with an expected completion date of December 2025. His professional journey encompasses roles as a Deaf Education teacher and Educational Interpreter, providing him with a comprehensive understanding of the field. This blend of hands-on experience and academic pursuit establishes Ernest as a versatile expert in Deaf Education and interpreting. His scholarly interests focus on Deaf identity formation, language deprivation, and the ASL/English interpreting profession. Ernest actively participates in Arizona’s Deaf, DeafBlind, and Hard of Hearing communities. Furthermore, Ernest runs a business offering life coaching, leadership consulting, interpretation, and translation services from English to ASL.
