Maya Abela works with Legal Director Rose Daly-Rooney to lead the legal and advocacy staff at Disability Rights Arizona. She joined DRAZ as a staff attorney in October 2015, where she worked on civil rights and education matters, and long-standing litigation concerning unconstitutional conditions in the state prison system. Prior to joining DRAZ, Maya was a trial attorney at the U.S. Department of Justice in the Environment and Natural Resources Division in Washington, DC. She is a member of the Arizona bar, and attended the University of Arizona for both her undergraduate and law degrees.
