Nikkia Asante

Lori “Nikkia” Asante has been a part of National Disability Rights Network (NDRN) since 2017. She previously worked at Disability Rights of Ohio in Columbus, Ohio then moved to Arizona and joined Disability Rights Arizona in October 2021 as part of the Representative Payee Program as an Investigator/ Advocate. Nikkia has over 17 years of experience in the medical field and social service field. Prior to coming to DRAZ,  she worked at Franklin County Children Services as a case manager, the State of Arizona as a Human Service Specialist working with cognitive/ intellectual disability adults to mental health and chemical dependent adults & Children, North Central Mental Health Agency on the IDDT/ACT team servicing severe mentally disabled consumers with drug disorders and high utilizers of the psychiatric hospitals and eight years at Nationwide Children’s Hospital under supervision of a Registered Nurse. She holds a degree in Mental Health, Addiction Studies and Development Disabilities and a bachelor’s degree in social work from Mount Vernon Nazarene University. Nikkia was born and raised in Columbus, Ohio. She is a proud mother of two sons aged 15 & 21. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, going to the gym, and enjoying outdoor activities.
