Synopsis:

With the 2026 election cycle underway, election officials are navigating a number of legal, security, and resource uncertainties. Many of the proposals at the state and national level will impact voting access, especially for voters with disabilities. Secretary of State Adrian Fontes of Arizona and Commissioner Thomas Hicks of the U.S. Election Assistance Commission will discuss the current election environment and some recommendations to protect voting rights, ensure voters can cast their ballots privately and independently, and maintain the public’s confidence in our elections.
